Dear Mat-Su Central Families,

We recognize that this year's Hybrid enrollment and course request process has been a little different than in previous years and, at times, confusing to navigate. As we've transitioned to a new process, we've learned a few things along the way and made some adjustments to better support families. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work through those changes. We've also noticed many families are asking the same questions, so we wanted to share a quick update to clarify where things stand and what to expect over the next few weeks.

‍A quick reminder: The Hybrid course request process is separate from enrollment at Mat-Su Central. Families should continue to complete the regular enrollment and registration steps for Mat-Su Central as usual. Requesting Hybrid courses does not replace the school's enrollment process.

Why isn't the Google Form for course requests working?

The Google Form was temporarily closed on July 10 so we could import and begin processing the course requests that had already been submitted. It will reopen during the first week of August for additional requests and changes.

I don't see the Course Request icon in ParentVUE. What should I do?

Our original plan was to use ParentVUE for Hybrid course requests. As we worked through the process, it became clear that ParentVUE wasn't able to support the functionality we needed, so we transitioned to a Google Form instead. The form is temporarily closed while we process requests and will reopen during the first week of August.

We missed the deadline for sign up. Does that mean we missed Hybrid classes for the year?

No. When the Google Form reopens during the first week of August, families will have another opportunity to enroll in the Hybrid program and submit course requests. There will still be an opportunity to participate.

How do I know if we've completed everything we need to do?

If you have:

• Completed the Hybrid Application in ParentVUE, and
• Submitted the Google Form for course requests,

then you've completed everything needed for the Hybrid course request process at this time. Please also be sure you've completed the standard Mat-Su Central enrollment and registration steps if your student is enrolling with MCS.

When will we know which courses our student received?

Hybrid courses will begin appearing in ParentVUE/StudentVUE during the first week of August as schedules are finalized.As we review course requests, we'll continue adjusting our course offerings based on student interest. That may include adding additional course sections, opening new classes, or, in some cases, combining courses with lower enrollment. Our goal is to provide as many requested opportunities as possible while making the best use of our staff and resources.

I have questions about a specific Hybrid course.

Our Hybrid teachers are enjoying a well-deserved summer break and have limited access to email. They will begin returning in late July and will respond to course-specific questions as they return.Thank you again for your patience and partnership as we prepare for another school year. We're excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to welcoming everyone back soon.
