Ignite curiosity through a hands-on connection with the natural world! This two-part weekly class invites students to become nature explorers and creators.
- Day 1 (Every other Wednesday off campus): "Gather & Gather" — We head outdoors to forage for seasonal edible treasures and collect natural treasures—leaves, twigs, bark, and seeds—to use as materials.
- Day 2 (Every other Monday on campus): "Wild Craft & Kitchen" — Inside we turn our findings into creative projects, such as botanical art, mud tools, or wild snacks and teas.
Students will develop observation skills, gain confidence in the outdoors, and practice sustainability by turning nature’s gifts into art, food, and useful tools.
Key Activities:
- Foraging edible plants and berries (guided safety).
- Cooking using local produce and materials
- Crafting with natural clay, wood, and fibers.
- Building structures and tools.
- Creating nature art and journals.
