Semester 1 Think Like an Artist (7421 S1 Arts & Ideas)  is stacked with AP Studio Art for students who have demonstrated a strong interest and commitment to excel in visual arts. Students must have completed a full year of high school instructional art classes and be in 10th grade or higher. Students will develop a portfolio in 2D Design, 3D Design, or Drawing, following the rigor and creative independence of AP Studio guidelines without the expectation to submit the portfolio to the AP College Board. Students are expected to work outside of class.

Some favorites in this class are Interior/Exterior Self Portrait, Freedom Project, and the Anchorage museum field trip.
