Class Description
This course introduces high school students to the fundamentals of mobility, stretching, and flexibility training in a real-world fitness environment. Held off-site at a local gym, students will learn how to improve range of motion, prevent injury, and support overall physical performance through guided stretching routines, mobility drills, and recovery techniques.
Throughout the course, students will explore dynamic and static stretching, joint mobility exercises, posture awareness, and proper warm-up and cool-down methods. Emphasis is placed on building lifelong habits that enhance athletic performance, reduce muscle tension, and promote overall wellness.
Because this class takes place in a shared public facility, students are expected to demonstrate respectful and responsible behavior at all times. This includes being mindful of noise levels, sharing space and equipment courteously, cleaning up after use, and following all gym policies and staff instructions. Learning how to navigate and respect a professional fitness environment is an important component of the course.
By the end of the course, students will be able to design their own basic mobility routines, understand the importance of recovery in physical health, and confidently participate in a gym setting with consideration for others.
