Class Description

This will be an introductory class to be taken in preparation for formal study of Algebra I. This course is designed to synthesize and structure all the arithmetic students have learned thus far and bridge it with algebraic thinking. We will focus translating between English and Algebra, arithmetic flexibility, number classification, equations and inequalities, and functions and graphing. Due to the limited time frame, this class is designed to be completed in tandem with other curriculum whether it be another onsite class or through at home study. Subject material will be complimentary to all topics in pre-algebra and beyond, and will supplement practice in basic math to boost success and give students a chance to ask questions in real time, collaborate with peers and enhance their engagement with math. If your student is seeking high school credit for time spent taking this class, a final exam will be required at the end of each session.
