Housing Concepts covers aspects of the housing/building industry and includes site selection, plan design, and development of a marketable product. Students will help provide information/choices to the Construction Trades class to develop a fully functional residential building. This class will work to provide the Construction Trades class with a functional set of working drawings with help from a civil engineer. A simulated building code inspector process is used from the site selection to the open house to reinforce the industry expectations. Careers associated with this process will be emphasized; for example, home builder, computer-aided drafter, interior designer, real estate agent, and building inspector.
