Class Description
This off-site physical education course is conducted at Impakt Athletics, an Olympic-sized gymnastics training facility in Palmer, Alaska. The course is designed for students in middle school through high school, with instruction and activities differentiated by age and developmental level. This proposal is submitted in alignment with expectations of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District for off-site instructional programming and physical education standards.
Students participate in structured cardiovascular conditioning, bodyweight strength training, agility development, coordination drills, and team-based movement activities within a large, open, and professionally equipped athletic environment. Instruction emphasizes safe movement mechanics, personal fitness development, and cooperative participation in a dynamic setting.
The facility at Impakt Athletics includes expansive spring-floor training areas, pull-up bars, open mat space, and movable conditioning equipment that supports circuit-based training, obstacle courses, and functional fitness activities. These resources allow students to engage in developmentally appropriate fitness challenges that promote lifelong physical literacy, confidence in movement, and healthy activity habits.
Because instruction occurs in a professional commercial training facility, gym etiquette, safety awareness, and respect for equipment are foundational expectations of the course. Students are expected to follow directions promptly, maintain awareness of others in shared space, and treat all equipment and facility property with care and professionalism at all times.
