Class Description

Semester 2 Art 2055 (Place-Based Design) is designed for students who have shown skill in visual design and engaged interest in developing school culture through art. We will be creating work that expresses Mat-Su Central’s values and enhances the beauty of our location at 2055 Stringfield. Students will be collaborating on murals and installation pieces that may include functional projects such as picnic tables and bike racks. Students must have already completed a semester art class at MCS. Students will often be working outside so please be prepared for weather.

Some highlight projects for this class are are custom murals, prom decor, and outdoor painting. Projects may also include:

Daily sketches

Collaborative games & projects

3D art installation

Posters

Student concert/play set design

Seasonal window paintings

Landscape art
