April 1, 2025

Event Description

Are you interested in marine science?

Dive into an underwater adventure with us as we learn about Alaska's diverse marine ecosystem. Let's get started with a couple prep classes at MCS- we'll learn how Alaskan sea mammals are built for frigid waters, how to track walruses and more! Next we'll embark on a WILD Adventure to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and the Seward Sea Life Center!

On our first stop, MCS students will enjoy a sack lunch at Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center's Bison Hall. After lunch, we will embark on a walking tour of the conservation center and learn about bears, moose, musk ox, wood bison and more!

Next, we will take a journey back in time and explore the unique history of the area at the Seward Museum. A museum scavenger hunt will lead students through the exhibits as they learn more about this fishing town.

Finally, a nocturne program at the Sea Life Center! We will learn about mysterious deep water sea creatures and their bioluminescence, and ocean animal perceptions!
