Class Description
This very popular program teaches the basic fundamentals of response, assessment, and treatment of injuries and medical emergencies when definitive care is not close by. Packed with hands-on learning and wilderness scenarios, the Youth WFA builds confidence and supports participants working together in a team. CPR training is also included in this program. This course is appropriate for youth ages 12-17 and is being hosted at the Wilderness Emergency Medical Center training center, located up Buffalo Mine Road. You will receive an email at least 7 days prior to the course with the address of our Yurt and other important course details
Students who successfully complete this course will receive a 2 year Wilderness First Aid and CPR certification. Students who are also enrolled at UAA may apply for non-traditional certified credit after successful completion of this course (Dept. of Health=1 credit)

Cancellation Policy:
Cost for this workshop can be automatically deducted from your student allotment. If you must cancel, please allow 48-hour notice. Course fees will be refunded minus 10% admin fee. There are no refunds issued if you cancel less than 48 hours prior to the course.
Please note that we have a minimum number required to host our courses. If that number is not met the course may be postponed until a later date. In the event this occurs, a refund will be issued or you can register for another course should you choose to do so.
