Class Description
Get outside, move your body, and discover the world around you! Each week, we’ll explore the natural world through movement, observation, drawing, writing, and curiosity. Students will learn to slow down and notice details that are easy to miss while also getting plenty of opportunities to move, explore, and take brain breaks.
Course Highlights:
- The "Nature Detective" Perspective: Learn to look closely at plants, animals, weather, patterns, and other natural phenomena through careful observation.
- Move & Explore: Use movement-based activities, outdoor exploration, and brain breaks to keep our bodies active and our minds engaged.
- Journal Like a Scientist: Record observations through sketches, words, questions, measurements, and evidence while developing fundamental science practices.
- See It Differently: Practice noticing patterns, comparing details, asking questions, and making connections between things we observe in nature.
- Creativity in the Outdoors: Use drawing, writing, and creative challenges to turn observations into a personal nature journal that grows throughout the course.
Join us to move, slow down, look closely, and wonder—because the more we notice, the more there is to discover!
