Event Description

Calling all young botanists! Are you curious about the fascinating world of plants and their adaptations? Join me at Mat-Su Central in The Project Room on October 4th for an exciting STEAM workshop where we'll learn all about the amazing adaptations of bromeliads and air plants.

What to Expect:

During this interactive workshop, students will delve into the unique features that make bromeliads and air plants special. We'll explore how these plants have adapted to survive in their environments, growing without soil and absorbing water through their leaves. By the end of the lesson, students will have a better understanding of plant adaptations and a newfound appreciation for the incredible world of bromeliads and air plants.

Terrarium Creation:

As a fun finale, students will have the opportunity to create their very own air plant terrariums to take home! With guidance, students will learn how to build a terrarium that provides the perfect environment for their air plants to thrive. This hands-on activity is not only educational but also a great way for students to express their creativity and connect with nature.

Recommended Ages: Kindergarten to 5th
