The Academic Advisory Council (AAC) is empowered by the School Board to make policy and budgetary recommendations to District Administration and the School Board that define the Mat-Su Central School philosophy, mission, vision, policies, administrative regulations, practices, and procedures in accordance with State law and regulation. The Committee consists of parents of students enrolled in the program, school staff, one appointed School Board member, one non-voting MSC Student Government student, and one Superintendent designee from the District Office. The majority of the Council is made up of parents of students enrolled in the program. The AAC meets monthly during the school year. The AAC is seeking involved parents to be part of the AAC Board. There are three seats available to be filled by parents of currently enrolled Mat-Su Central students. Please respond to the following questions (100 words or less for each question):
- Why do you want to be part of the AAC Advisory Board?
- How are you currently involved with Mat-Su Central: (Homeschool background, classes or workshops taken, why are you part of Mat-Su Central?)
- How will you help make the MSC program better or more relevant?
The schedule, agendas and minutes from AAC meetings can be found here: AAC Info
Even if you are not a voting member, any parents are encouraged to attend AAC meetings to provide input.
