Interested in enrollment at MSC starting second semester?

Important: Do not unenroll from your school yet (this could put your current course progress in jeopardy)

  • Step 1: Attend mandatory orientation Dec. 13th or 20th @ 2pm at the Wasilla Campus
    (more orientations will be scheduled for January)
  • Step 2: Complete and submit paperwork received at orientation
  • Step 3: MSC will contact you to set up an appointment with an advisory teacher for second semester

    MSC Academic Advisory Council now seeking applicants for seats.

    AAC Leadership Seats Information

    To Parents of Mat-Su Central students,
    The Academic Advisory Council (AAC) at Mat-Su Central School is currently soliciting applications from any parents interested in serving on the AAC. 
    If you would like to be considered for one of the available seats, please read the following information, respond to the questions provided, and provide a photo and short biography (100 words or less) by 3:30 PM on Friday, November 30, 2018. 

    Return your responses to Susan Nelson via email:  Susan.Nelson@matsuk12.us  or to Susan Nelson in the Mat-Su Central School front office in person. 

    Responses will be sent out in the Mat-Su Central Newsletter on Tuesday, December 4.  Voting will take place via email to the MCS Registrar or in person at the MCS Registrar’s Office on December 11, 12, or 13, 2018.  New AAC Members will be announced at the AAC meeting on Monday, January 14, 2019 and in the January MCS Newsletter. 


    The Academic Advisory Council (AAC) is empowered by the School Board to make policy and budgetary recommendations to District Administration and the School Board that define the Mat-Su Central School philosophy, mission, vision, policies, administrative regulations, practices, and procedures in accordance with State law and regulation.  The Committee consists of parents of students enrolled in the program, school staff, one appointed School Board member, one non-voting MSC Student Government student, and one Superintendent designee from the District Office.  The majority of the Council is made up of parents of students enrolled in the program.  The AAC meets monthly during the school year.  The AAC is seeking involved parents to be part of the AAC Board.  There are three seats available to be filled by parents of currently enrolled Mat-Su Central students.  Please respond to the following questions (100 words or less for each question):

    1. Why do you want to be part of the AAC Advisory Board?
    2. How are you currently involved with Mat-Su Central:  (Homeschool background, classes or workshops taken, why are you part of Mat-Su Central?)
    3. How will you help make the MSC program better or more relevant?
